What We do Wednesdays | Cara Delevigne

Step 1

After moisturizing your face, use a primer so you’ll makeup will last longer and any redness will be hidden. I used the Prime and Fine Anti-Red Base by Cosmetics.

Step 2

Put on your foundation. Don’t forget to blend it in well. I use the real-techniques contour brush, don’t know. It just does the job better than any other brush I tested. I think it is the most important step. If your foundation looks weird, you’ll think you look weird every time you look into a mirror. At least that’s what happens to me. My current makeup is: L’Oreal Paris Le teint perfect match in N2. (I finally found it in a lighter shade. I’m so happy!)

Step 3

Fill in your eyebrows. I currently love the real techniques brow brush for the job. And, again, I used the Alverde eye shadow palette 37 chocolate.

Step 4

Prime your eyelids. It’ll help the eye shadow last longer. I used the Rival de Loop young Eyeshadow Base. To be honest, it isn’t the best one you could use but it does the job. I need to find a better one with more lasting power.

Step 5

Put on a white eye shadow on your whole lid. Make sure you highlight your inner corners in the same shade. It’ll open your eyes and make the white more prominent. I decided to go with the Rimmel London Glam’Eys Mono Eye Shadow in Glam Ice [100].

Step 6

Apply a light to middle blue eyeliner on your waterline. The xtreme last eyeliner in 78T by Manhattan was my choice.

Step 7

Apply your mascara. As I explained earlier, I have to use two mascaras to get the best result. If you don’t need to, just curl your lashes and use your favourite mascara. I used Catrice Glamour Doll Mascara waited a little and then put on another layer with Maybelline New York The Falsies Volum’ Express Flared Mascara.

Step 8

Apply a concealer underneath your eyes and on your red spots. I used the Nyx HD Concealer for underneath my eyes and the Manhattan Wake Me Up Concealer for my red spots.

Step 9

To give your skin the perfect finish, use a powder. I used the Manhattan Soft Compact Powder.

Step 10

Finish your makeup look with an orange-red looking. Astor’s Heidi Colour Last VIP Lipstick in the colour cheeky [003].

And that’s it. Another take on a celebrity makeup look. I stumbled upon this amazing look on Pinterest and fell in love.

Hope you like it! 🙂

Have a nice week! See you on friday, loves!

What We Do Wednesdays | Holiday Shimmer

Step 1

First of all, I use the P2 Professional Perfect Face Anti-Red Base to prime my face properly. It helps hiding redness and my makeup looks tons better on my face. Afterwards, I help my eye shadow last longer with the Eye Shadow Base by Manhattan.20150227_141941

Step 2

You see, there is a lot of ways to apply makeup and reach the goal you want. I figured, that it works best for me, if I use concealer before my foundation. In this case I put the Ultra Matte 24 Hours [010] by P2 on the darkish rings under my eyes and any other redness or spots bothering me.

Step 3

Let’s get to the foundation. With my foundation brush, I blend in the foundation. Right now I use the Fit Me Foundation by Maybelline. Mine is in the shade 105.

Step 4

That’s quick and easy. I fill in my eyebrows. To do that, I use the Eyebrow Express Stylish Blonde [010] by P2.

20150227_132854 20150227_141835

Step 5

First of all, I apply the Wet & Dry Eye Shadow by Catrice in the shade Vanilla Sky Ride all over my eyelid with a fluffly eye shadow brush.

Step 6

Now, the next step. I use the Wet & Dry Eye Shadow again. This time in the colour Please Gold The Line. I apply that over most of the eye lid. Be sure to leave a little space between your inner corner and the eye shadow you want to apply. Let’s say you apply the eye shadow around two thirds of your eye lid.

Step 7

At a last step, I apply a dark brown eye shadow. For this step I chose the Youstar Nr. 01 Brown Eyeshadow Palette. I blend the second from right brown in my crease and apply a little of it underneath my bottom lash line.

Step 8

With the Maybelline Gel Eyeliner in Intense Black I put on an eye lid line very close to my lashes and winged it out but only a little.

20150227_135917 20150227_142146

Step 9

To seal everything off and stop the shining going on in my face, I powdered my face with Maybelline’s Fit Me Pressed Powder.  Again, mine is in the shade 105.

Step 10

I put on a natural lip stick. I chose the C01 Pinkadoxa by Catrice.20150227_142219

Step 11

When everything else is done, I apply my favourite Mascara at the moment: Lash Sensational by Maybelline.

As you can see, this tutorial is a little more ‘step-by-step’. We figured that’s better. 🙂

Hope you like the look and re-create it. It’s really an easy but beautiful makeup look!

Have a nice week!

What We Do Wednesdays | Adelaide Kane

Auditioning is extremely bizarre. Just being an actor is extremely bizarre, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

–  Adelaide Kane

The first thing I do while starting every makeup look is my foundation. Right now I use the L’Oreal le teint Perfect Match [or true match as it is called in other countries, if I remember correctly] in the shade N2 vanilla. It’s a little too dark for me, but I use it in order to be easily distinguished from a white wall. After that was done, I filled in my eyebrows with the Alverde eye shadow palette 37 chocolate. I used the one on the far right.

Now to the eyes. I grabbed my Manhattan eye mazing eye shadow pen in 20. I put it all over my lid and underneath my eye from the inner corner to the midst of my waterline.

Next I grabbed my Alverde eye shadow Palette 38 Smokey Eyes and put the black eye shadow on 2/3 of my eye. Leave out the inner corners! I put the eye shadow underneath my eye as well, starting from where the Manhattan eye shadow pen left of up to the outer corner of my eye.

The lashes were next. Since my lashes are pretty short, I have to do three steps to get the best end result. So, at first I curled my lashes. Second, I used the Catrice Glamour Doll Mascara. The reason I used it first is that it separates my lashes really well and lengthens them a little. After I applied the mascara, I waited a little before I put another layer mascara on my lashes. This time I used the Maybelline New York The Falsies Volum’ Express Flared Mascara (My, what a long name). It gives my lashes a little more of length, a lot of volume and holds the curl really well.

If your one of the lucky people out there with amazing lashes as well, you probably only need to use your favourite mascara.

When my eyes were done, I used my concealers. Yes, you’ve read right. Plural. I just find, that the Nyx HD Concealer in the shade CW01 is perfect for underneath my eyes, while the Manhattan Wake Me Up Concealer in the shade 001 naturelle is perfect for my blemishes or other red spots.

When my face was concealed, I used the Manhattan Soft Compact Powder in the shade 1 naturelle to give my skin the perfect finish. Then I used a little bit of Manhattan Powder Rouge in the shade 53n fresh peach on the apples of my cheeks, before I highlighted my cheekbones with Essence bloom me up! shimmer powder.

To finish everything of, I put Catrice Infinite Shine Lip Gloss on my lips. Sadly, I can’t tell which shade it is, since the name isn’t anywhere to be found on the bottle.

And that’s it. That is my first take on re-creating a makeup look. Hopefully, you like it and can re-create it, too! We’ll get better eventually. Learning by doing, right?

Have a nice week!

Lots of love,

Laura & Lilly

Make The Most Of Your Lipstick

I am a lipstick lover. I can’t and won’t deny it. A nice suiting lipstick simply finishes every look. But – yes of course there is a but – I have dry lips. Very dry lips actually, especially in the winter time. I never leave the house without a lip balm (preferably Carmex).

After trying out a lot of things, I found myself a few things, which really help my lips and make my lipstick stay longer. I will share my lip-care habits with you – and maybe they’ll help you improve and extend your lipstick experience.

  1. It is probably the most important one: Choose your lip salve carefully. I feel like I have tried thousands of lip products. I’ve used Labello, Balea, bebe – you name it. In the end, I always come back to Carmex and milking grease with marigold salve. If you use something, that dries your lips or just give you the feeling that you have to use it very often: Do not keep on using it. It’ll only make everything worse, and your lips addicted to this particular lip salve.

  1. This is very important, too. Almost as important as number one if you ask me. Look for a moisturizing lipstick. I know, I know. A lot of lipsticks promise you to be moisturizing and stuff – but don’t believe in anything the little cutie tries to tell you. Thing is, how do you prove them wrong? I can give you a 100% guarantee this trick always works, but I swatch the lipsticks I like every time before I buy them. I grab the tester and test them on the back of my hand. If the lipstick promises to be nice and caring and moisturizing, pick the tester up and swipe it over the back of your hand, it’ll be very smooth on your skin when you try it. To make it a little easier on you, I’ll can tell you which lipstick works very well on me!
    1. Pure Shine Colour Lip Balm – Catrice [ca. 5€]
    2. Perfect Creamy & Care Lipstick – Manhattan [ca. 3€]
    3. Betty Lipstick – Benefit [ca. 16€]

  1. Okay, this is going to sound very had, but: Stay away from lip glosses. I know, lip gloss is beautiful and pretty and simply amazing. You know what it also is? Very bad for people who tend to have dry lips. There will be lip gloss out there, that doesn’t dry out your lips even more. I know there will be. I probably haven’t found it yet. Still 90% of those lovely little lip glosses won’t be good to your lips.

  1. Get an evening routine. What I do in the evening is, I get a toothbrush – preferably one unused and with medium hardness, and scrub the dry skin from my lips, then moisturize my lips with milking grease. It is simple, you barely need anything and it works wonders. My lips feel amazing when I sleep with the milking grease on my lips. They are so smooth in the morning. When I know I will wear lipstick that day, I’ll repeat my evening routine after breakfast, so my lips are much moisturized.

  1. Put a thin layer of your lip salve or milking grease on your lips around 5 minutes before you put on lipstick. It is important that you wait a while because if you put the lipstick directly onto the balm, it won’t work. The lipstick will go away immediately.

  1. When you have put on your lipstick, be careful not to press your lips together. Wait for another 5 minutes. It’ll help the lip stick to set on your lips for a longer duration.

  1. Press your lips onto a napkin or face tissue. Then wait just a moment and put on another layer of lipstick. Wait again, before pressing your lips onto a napkin or face tissue again.

Since I got into the habit of doing those things, I don’t have a lot of trouble with wearing lipstick anymore. That makes me so incredibly happy.

Do you know any other tricks? Or can you recommend any lip glosses (high-end and/or drugstore) I can use that won’t dry my lips?

Makeup Tutorial | Germany Inspired | World Cup 2014

I wanted to try something new, and I thought: Why not today? Since it’s the day of the first semifinal, and I need something more than just nails and a top. 🙂

2014-07-08 16.30.47

Let’s go, shall we?

  • (Use a primer. If you don’t need to, lucky you!) Put on your foundation. I love the cute little eggs to do so. They blend your foundation really well.
  • Put eye shadow base over you whole lid, so your eye shadow will last longer.
  • Let the eye shadow base rest a little, while doing you eyebrows. I like mine a bit stronger, but you don’t have to do it.

So, the base is done, let’s do the eyes!

  • First use a reddish eye shadow, put it all over your lid and close to your waterline underneath the eye.

  • Then grab a black eye shadow and work it into your crease. Don’t forget to blend well.

  • Highlight your inner corners with a yellow eye shadow or an inner corner highlight.
  • Line your eyes with some black liner.
  • Curl your lashes and put on some mascara.

2014-07-08 17.15.30

  • Use a primer to hide blemishes you might have and use powder to set everything. I especially put some on my t-zone, too, because my skin tends to get a little oily.

2014-07-08 17.16.20

  • If using a bronzer, don’t forget to suck in you cheeks a little, so you know where to put it. Rouge your cheeks. I used a tiny bit of highlighter on my cheekbones. It think it makes your skin look great.

2014-07-08 17.18.12

  • Last but not least, use a lip gloss or lipstick [or both] to finish the look! I only used lip gloss, because I’ll stay home. Otherwise I think, I’d have used a reddish lipstick, too. Yeah, most likely.

And that’s the finished look. Pretty quick and easy, if you ask me.

2014-07-08 18.16.33

Hope you enjoyed the little tutorial. We’ll do more in the future. Maybe we’ll do them in a video, but first we need to get some sh*t done & get used to it. Sometimes it’s pretty weird, to be quite honest. But hey, no guts, no glory. Right? Right.

If you did enjoy, please leave a like or let us know in the comments. We’d really appreciate it! [And, psst, you can follow us on twitter. @LiLas_World_. Just sayin’.]

Have a wonderful day/evening!

xxx Li & La
